Recognising Oily skin
If you have oily skin, it may feel greasy and appear shiny throughout the day, especially in the T-zone (i.e. forehead, nose and chin). Those with oily skin may also experience blocked and enlarged pores, leaving them prone to acne, blackheads, whiteheads and blemishes. It occurs when your skin produces a higher amount of sebum (skin’s natural oil) than usual. It’s not all bad; oily skin is generally more resistant to wrinkles!
What would Witlof do?
Oily skin can be tricky to deal with, but you just need to learn how you can control it. It is important to use skincare that can help to reduce excess oil, without being overly drying. A misconception of having oily skin is that you should skip moisturizer. Just because your skin is oily, it doesn’t mean it cannot become dehydrated. Dehydrated skin can also be a cause of excess oil production.
Hyaluronic acid, found in our Nourishing Facial Cream, helps the skin to retain water and lock in moisture, preventing the overproduction of oil. Niacinamide (vitamin B3), used in our Day Creams, is effective at reducing the look of pores, controlling excess oil, preventing blemishes and calming redness. Finally, Witlof Skincare uses ginger root oil as a natural form of Retinol (Pro-vitamin A). This is an antioxidant that is powerful in the renewal of the skin. It is great at reducing wrinkles, acne and pigmentation, as well as boosting collagen production.
