SKIN CARE TIPS FOR HYPERPIGMENTATION
How to recognize hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation means that some parts of the skin are darker than the surrounding area. It can sometimes be caused by excessive sun exposure or post-inflammatory trauma from skin conditions like acne. At Witlof, we use various ingredients that are great for helping to fade these dark spots and reduce redness.
What would Witlof do?
Niacinamide (vitamin B3), found in Witlof Skincare's Rich Facial Cream, is a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that is great for soothing irritated skin and reducing redness. Ceramides (or skin-identical lipids) found in our Rich Facial Cream can improve the function of the skin barrier, helping to repair damage.
We use Ginger Root Oil (Pro-vitamin A), a natural form of Retinol, which is present in many of our products, including the Cleansing Mousse, Balancing Toner, and Smoothing Peel. It is a powerful antioxidant that effectively renews the skin, stimulates collagen production, reduces hyperpigmentation, and fades scars from skin conditions like acne.
Rosehip Extract (Vitamin C) is also found in many of our products, such as the Nourishing Face Cream. Vitamin C acts as both an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, making it beneficial for soothing irritation while also helping to fade scars by stimulating collagen production.
One of the most important products you can use to help your hyperpigmentation is sunscreen, as this can prevent hyperpigmentation from getting darker. We uses Zinc Oxide in all of our SPF products, as this reflects UV radiation, meaning none is absorbed into the skin.
