MAROESJA DE RUYTER ON WITLOF SKINCARE

MAROESJA DE RUYTER OVER WITLOF SKINCARE

Maroesja de Ruyter is Contributing Beauty & Health Editor at Harper’s Bazaar NL, Yoga Teacher and has its own studio (Nourish Studio). She finds Clean Beauty Very important. Maroesja has been using the products from Chicory Skincare And we were curious about her opinion.

What do you understand Clean Beauty?

Skin care and makeup with pure, non-irritating substances and with a pure conscience. The ingredients and packaging are obtained and processed in a clean and sustainable way.

Why are you a fan of chicory? What are your favorite products?

What I like about chicory is that the quality is high. The combination of natural ingredients and effectiveness: it makes your skin more beautiful. Also that they do their best to make the packaging as sustainable as possible in chicory. But the best thing about this brand is that it is accessible to be priced so Clean Beauty becomes possible for many people. My favorite products are the Nourishing Facial Cream, really a good no-nonsense moisturizer, it Regenerating Oil Serum and the Cleansing Mousse. It cleans your skin well but mildly.

How important Clean Beauty For you?

Clean Beauty Is important to me, it fits nicely with Saucha. That is one of the niyamas of the eight -time yoga path. Saucha stands for purity and cleanliness. Both keeping your body clean but also for purity of your actions and your thoughts. That is in line with how you can make a positive impact from the inside, with yourself, but also to the world outside of you.

How do you delve into the ingredients of products before choosing a cosmetics product? What criteria do you use for yourself?

I read about it and often look for ingredients and their operation, but I also find out what the most effective percentage of an ingredient is. In addition, I am lucky that I am regularly allowed to interview many different skin experts, dermatologists and scientists as a contributing beauty editor for Harper’s Bazaar NL. The criteria for myself? A transparent brand that is open about the ingredients and production method, the footprint of a product, or the company does its best to recycle. But also certification and that there are no palm oil or microbeads.

What do you recommend to women who have difficulty taking care of their skin on a regular basis? Do you still have special Beauty tips or tricks?

Keep it simple. You really don't have to follow a 5-step plan. But keep in mind that a beautiful skin will only come up through your genes, the rest is really in maintenance. By cleaning your skin with a mousse and water and then using a moisturiser you can go a long way. Do that immediately after brushing your teeth. It is so squeezed.

My tip: reduce stress or find a way to handle it well. Stress hormones can weaken your skin. Move regularly, meditate and try to be positive in life. For example, write every day in a book that you are grateful for, that can be something very small.

Choose from the following two:

Fast effect or slow (but sustainable) improvement

Slow sustainable improvement

Cleaning milk or cleaning mousse

Cleansing mousse

Recycled plastic packaging or glass packaging

Glass packaging
