Why Exfoliation is an important addition to your skin care routine

Whether you use a silicone exfoliation brush or a peel that removes dead skin cells, it is important to clean and purify the top layer of your skin, whereby the dead skin cells are removed and all the dirt is removed from the pores. This way the largest organ of your body is thoroughly cleaned.

What is exfoliation?

Dialing removes the barrier from dead skin cells that lie on top of the skin and can hide and reveals the fresh new cells underneath. This opens the road for moisturizing products to penetrate deeper into the skin, so that they can do their work more effectively. A regular exfoliating routine ensures that your skin feels soft and looks radiant.

The two types of exfoliants

There are two types of exfoliant: a scrub and a peeling. A scrub has a grain that removes dead skin cells through massage. These granules are often only made of ground nut caps or microplastics and there is a good chance that they will damage your skin (or the environment).

You don't have to sand your skin with sharp grains. A natural peeling consists of (fruit) acids, which ensure that the "glue" between the dead skin cells is dissolved and releasing the cells. In addition to the fact that a natural peeling does not damage your skin (we are not talking about a heavy, chemical peeling), it has another advantage. The Chicory Smoothing Peel also contains Corallina Zeewier that ensures that the skin cells are temporarily better able to absorb moisture. And that is exactly what skin care should do!

Will Exfolieren relieve the skin?

A short answer? Yes, it can make the skin lighter. This is not a permanent solution. Scrubbing helps to remove the dead skin cells, forcing your body to create new ones more often. This means that the skin that is exposed to the sun is essentially removed, leaving your natural pigmentation that is sometimes lighter than the skin on which the sun has shot. But scrubbing will not make your own natural skin color lighter.

This of course also means that by regularly scrubbing you disappear through the sun -tanned color.

Removes Exfolieren the hair?

No, but the hair removal can help! As mentioned earlier, Exfoliating dead skin cells removes, which means that every accumulation of cells around the hair follicles is also removed if you exfolia in that area. After this, the hair removal process that you choose can look a lot cleaner and easier, because there are no dead skin cells in the way of a razor blade or other hair removal method. You will also be less likely to suffer from ingrown hairs if you regularly exfolia.

Why does Exfoliation make your skin red?

While you remove the upper skin layer, your new skin cells will be softer, redder and more sensitive than the old ones that are dry and dead. However, constant redness and sensitivity is not good for your skin. This can happen if you exfolia very aggressively or use an aggressive exfoliant. These will do your skin more harm than good. But smooth skin with pink glow after exfoliating is completely ok and beautiful to see.

Which exfoliant is best for sensitive skin?

Especially with a skin that is sensitive or suffers from couperose, acne, eczema or rosacea, we strongly advise against scrubbing. A regular, mild peeling is a great way to keep your upper skin layer as thin as possible to stimulate cell division and blood flow. Your skin produces new, fresh skin cells that can be well fed to reveal beautiful, clean and radiant skin.

The Chicory Smoothing Peel Contains fruit acids (pineapple and blueberry) that are the perfect way to exfoliate your skin softly and thoroughly. Corallina Zeewier is also rich in magnesium and calcium and helps maintain the hydrolipid balance of the skin. It allows the skin to allow moisture better. This improves the flexibility and the moisture content of the skin and strengthens the barrier function. The red alga has antibacterial properties and contains many antioxidants that prevent aging.

This smoothing peel not only removes dead skin cells, but also ensures that your skin can retain moisture for longer. Fruit acids have an activating effect on the underlying skin layers that become firmer and more collagen is created. It also blurres pigmentation and small irregularities over time.

The Smoothing Peel is the ultimate part of your skin routine and ensures smooth, even skin and a radiant glow.
