It is almost impossible to pronounce, Hy-a-Lu-Ron acid, and also sounds very chemical and unhealthy, but hyaluronic acid is a super-effective, natural substance that can mean a lot of good things for your skin.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid (or: hyaluronic acid) is a substance that occurs naturally in large quantities in different places in our body, for example in connective tissue, cartilage, nerve tissue and in the fabric between our cells. It can retain a lot of water and that is exactly what you are trying to achieve with your skin care. But that is also the most difficult. Your skin is lipophile, which means that it easily allows fats, but not hydrophilic, so water is not just absorbed by your skin. Understandable, otherwise you would walk around like a Michelin doll every time you had a nice bath.
Where does hyaluronic acid come from?
In the past, hyaluronic acid was taken from rooster combs. Nowadays, fortunately, a vegetable variant is usually used. The hyaluronic acid in chicory skincare products is of course free of animal material, chicory skincare is vegan. The hyaluronic acid in our products has the same molecular connection and positive properties, but is extracted from sugars after a biofotation process.
What does hyaluronic acid do for your skin?
Because hyaluronic acid can retain so much moisture - 1 gram even absorbs more than 6 liters of water - it is an ideal addition to a cream. The fat from the cream passes the moisture into the skin and the hyaluronic acid retains it in the skin. Moisty skin gives a fuller, softer and smoother appearance and belongs to a healthy skin condition.
Which products of chicory skincare are hyaluronic acid?
Because it has such a beautiful effect and helps incredibly well with dry skin, or brings a skin condition back in balance, we have all our creams hyaluronic acid added, even to our Silky Hand Cream. Logical right?
